VSCodium is a community-driven, freely-licensed binary distribution of Microsoft’s editor VS Code.
Microsoft’s vscode source code is open source (MIT-licensed), but the product available for download (Visual Studio Code) is licensed under non-FLOSS license and contains telemetry/tracking.
The VSCodium project exists so that you can easily use a libre version of Visual Studio Code.

If you are running High Sierra DO NOT DOWNLOAD VERSION 1.86.2 or above
The **** thing updated itself and now will not launch on my laptop, truly brilliant for letting it do that !!!!!
